Healthcare Immersion in Portugal
Information Session: Friday, November 10 from 12:00-1:00 in PHSB 204

This is a short-term study abroad experience led by a Butler faculty member that includes shadowing of healthcare professionals in Spain. This course will help students explore the diversity of national healthcare systems as well as reflect on health determinants, health disparities, healthcare access and barriers to healthcare in the content of another culture.

Students will spend a minimum of 20 hrs/week in the hospital environment, shadowing doctors and other healthcare professionals in pairs.  They will shadow four days per week, generally between 9am - 2pm, although the hours will change  depending on the day and hospital activity.
