Live the sevillano lifestyle while earning course-credit through Spanish Studies Abroad's semester programs. Seville, a beautiful and ancient city, is known for its winding Moorish streets, Renaissance gardens, grand architecture, and flamenco.

The Integrated Studies Program:
Universidad de Sevilla or Universidad Pablo de Olavide

Students in the Integrated Studies Program take courses at our Center, a historic mansion in downtown Seville, and enroll in one to three courses alongside Spanish students at a local university, choosing between Universidad de Sevilla or Universidad Pablo de Olavide. Through a specially-designed culture course and intensive language program, you are guided through the process of studying abroad at a foreign institution, so that you may more fully integrate into the sevilllano culture. Spanish Studies Abroad in Seville also houses the Spanish Studies program, which is known for its rigorous academic curriculum and attention to the study abroad student's immersion experience.

Program Goals:

With over 40 years of academic excellence in Spanish studies, the Spanish Studies Abroad Integrated Studies program offers advanced Spanish language students the opportunity to take classes alongside local students while benefiting from the cultural guidance, language tools, and academic quality that defines Spanish Studies Abroad programming.

The goal of the Integrated Spanish Studies program is to guide you to live as a member of sevillano culture both on campus and in the city, while gaining a profound understanding of your surroundings. A unique intensive period at the Center in Seville prepares you for the challenges of studying in a foreign university. The Center also provides you with many available resources to help you navigate through your experience.

Requirements: 

  • Successful completion of two semesters of advanced college-level Spanish or the equivalent; or heritage speaker
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in Spanish coursework
  • Only for Universidad de Sevilla: Score of B1 on the on-line placement exam

Financial Information

This is considered a 3rd Party Provider program. You will continue to pay Butler University tuition for your semester abroad, instead of the tuition cost listed on the provider's website. The Butler University CGE will receive the bill for this program on your behalf, will pay it, and will pass on these expenses in your Butler student account, including Butler tuition (instead of the tuition listed on the program’s page) and any non-tuition charges, like housing, health insurance, etc. Additionally, you will receive 100% of your federal financial aid and 50% of your Butler University institutional aid and scholarships for your semester abroad.

Additional provider fees may include: application fee, housing deposit, health insurance, etc.

**These above-stated policies may be different for tuition remission, tuition exchange, Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program, and petition program students. Please check with Financial Aid for more information.**

Application Instructions

As a Butler University student, you will simultaneously apply directly with the provider for this program by their listed deadline, as well as complete this secondary application with the Center for Global Education (CGE) for your top-choice program. You can start the CGE’s application by clicking "Apply Now" above. Should you apply for/get into another program that you’d prefer, just let the CGE know and they’ll switch your completed application into the correct program.

All pre-decision materials must be completed in this online application system by the deadline listed on this application.
